Spotlight Programs
Wednesday, May 15th at 2:30pm
Take a deep sea dive into the ocean to learn how it influences our lives and impacts the world all around us. Students will perform experiments, create ocean floor artwork, play a game of Rescue the Shark Battleship, and test their knowledge with an Open Ocean Survival simulation! It’s Elementary is available for students in grades 3 through 6. Pre-registration is required to attend.
Wednesday evenings in May at 5:30pm
Julia Adler recently found a mummified corpse in the attic of her family-owned theater. The remains belong to the famed actress Viola Vane, who notoriously disappeared in 1934. Now that Vane’s body has been unearthed, can you answer the million-dollar question: Who orchestrated the vanishing of Viola Vane?
This series of events will take place at the 1845 Courthouse located at 1305 Cochran Ave in Charlotte.
Friday, May 17th at 6:00pm
We will be making homemade bug repellant! This craft is available for adults and requires pre-registration to attend.
Sunday, May 19th at 2:00pm and 3:30pm
Come hear The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter and enjoy a short ballet performance from the story by The Dance Studio. Afterwards, nibble on thematic snacks and participate in activities and crafts inside the Children’s Room. Registration is open May 1st–14th. For families with children ages 5 & up.

May 2024 Patrons of the Month
The Underwood family utilizes the library in many ways, including checking out audiobooks and borrowing from MeL. They have also enjoyed Story Hour and Craft Club for the kids. The family lives in the city of Charlotte.
